Silver prices on the world market are at their highest in at least five years, according to data from the New York Mercantile Exchange Comex. By the close of trading on January 24, futures for the precious metal had risen by 2% to $31.19 per troy ounce. Over the year, they have risen by 36.4% — on February 26, 2024, a troy ounce of silver was trading at $22.87.
