Ukraine is actively working on implementing the technology of small modular reactors (SMR) and intends to become a hub for their production for European countries. NNEGC Energoatom is cooperating with the American company Holtec International to transfer the technology for manufacturing SMR components and components for a centralized spent nuclear fuel storage facility. Such a storage facility has already been built using Holtec technology and is successfully operated in Ukraine.
