The Ukrainian government and parliament face a key task - to transform the housing sector into one that is attractive to potential investors. The Ministry of Development and Trade is negotiating with the European Investment Bank to launch a new direction - the construction of social rental housing. An expert from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe hopes that by the end of the year a corresponding pilot project will be launched, and the first such investments to create a fund of affordable social housing, primarily for IDPs, will begin to work.
