The European Commission and the EIB have signed a €2 billion guarantee for urgent recovery projects in Ukraine

The agreement will ensure the further implementation of urgent recovery and reconstruction projects in Ukraine. It is part of the EU’s Ukraine Facility financial support mechanism for Ukraine, the press service of the Ministry of Economy comments on the agreement. The funds will be used to finance state projects in key sectors: strengthening energy networks, including the expansion of hydropower and renewable energy production. Additional funding will support the modernization of railways, the development of urban public transport and the improvement of transport infrastructure. This includes, in particular, the Solidarity Roads initiative, which is aimed at improving transport connections between Ukraine and the EU.
