Ukraine signed an agreement with China to expand the list of agricultural exports

The document regulates veterinary, sanitary and phytosanitary requirements for the supply of wild-caught aquatic products, including fish and seafood, as well as peas, to the Chinese market.Pea production in Ukraine demonstrates stable dynamics. In the 2023/2024 marketing year, it amounted to 409 thousand tons, and in 2024/2025 it is forecasted at 476 thousand tons. The main sales markets remain Turkey, India, Italy, Malaysia, the UAE and China, which shows high growth rates of purchases.At the same time, domestic industrial fish catch in 2024 increased by 6.2% compared to the previous year and amounted to 11.9 thousand tons. Catches outside Ukraine's jurisdiction almost doubled to 19.9 thousand tons. The export value of fish products increased by 80.3% for the year and reached $56.3 million.In the field of international trade, relations between the world's major economies continue to deteriorate. The United States announced an increase in tariffs on goods from China, which is due to the failure to take measures to control the supply of synthetic opioids. In response, China announced plans to increase its defense budget by 7.2% in 2025, which will amount to 1.784 trillion yuan ($244.99 billion).
