Ukraine has signed an updated Free Trade Agreement with the EFTA countries - Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. The document, which replaces the 2010 agreement, has been adapted to modern economic realities and supplemented with new sections. It provides for the complete abolition of duties on industrial products, as well as the abolition or reduction of duties on hundreds of agricultural goods.The agreement includes new provisions on e-commerce, support for small and medium-sized businesses, trade and sustainable development, and also updates the rules on trade procedures, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, public procurement and protection of intellectual property. Customs duties on a significant number of agricultural goods have been abolished and reduced:
Iceland: complete abolition of customs duties on 142 goods, including vegetables, wheat, food products, partial reduction of customs duties on 5 goods,
Norway: complete abolition of customs duties on 107 goods, including fresh, cooked, canned vegetables, berries and nuts, oils, juices, partial reduction of customs duties on 78 goods, including yogurt, butter and spreads, eggs, vegetables, canned fruits and nuts,
Switzerland and Liechtenstein: complete abolition of customs duties on 427 goods, including pork, milk, cheeses, honey, vegetables, fruits and berries, flour, animal and vegetable oils, canned meat, fruits, partial reduction of customs duties on 163 goods.This opens up wider opportunities for Ukrainian business and contributes to Ukraine's integration into European supply chains.
