In the 2024/25 marketing year, Ukrainian corn exporters will face increased competition in key markets. Even if China’s purchases remain at 10 million tons, Beijing is expected to give preference to Brazilian corn. This was reported by a Latifundist.com correspondent at Grain Ukraine 2025.In addition, it is possible that China will open the market to Argentine corn, which will further complicate access for Ukrainian grain.
In this regard, analysts make a cautious forecast for corn exports from Ukraine to China — only about 1 million tons. Among the promising areas, Southeast Asia is mentioned, especially India, which, although not a regular importer, is willing to purchase Ukrainian grain during market activation. The forecasted volumes are up to 500 thousand tons.
