During the week, world wheat quotes remain stable due to the lack of fundamental news and expectations of the August USDA report. In Ukraine, prices are being pressured by uncertainty about the quality and quantity of the new harvest, agronews.ua reports.Heavy rainfall in the west and north of the country has worsened grain quality, increasing the share of feed wheat and reducing yield potential. Purchase prices for feed per week fell by another 200–300 UAH/t — to 9600–9700 UAH/t ($203–206/t) with delivery to Black Sea ports. The discount for wheat with “soot” grains has grown to 60 UAH for each percentage point above the permissible 10%.
Prices for food wheat are kept at the level of 10,700–10,900 UAH/t ($226–230/t), but in the second half of August they are expected to increase due to increased demand from exporters and processors.
As of August 11, 2025, wheat exports from Ukraine amounted to 1.23 million tons, which is almost half the amount of a year ago (2.6 million tons). 14.914 million tons of wheat were harvested from 3.713 million hectares (74% of the area) with an average yield of 4.02 tons/hectare, which is 10% lower than last year. The production forecast from APK-Inform was lowered to 19.7 million tons, while the USDA in July estimated it at 22 million tons.On world markets, September futures during the week:SRW in Chicago — ↓0.3% to $189.3/tonHRW in Kansas City — ↑0.4% to $190.7/tonHRS in Minneapolis — ↑0.7% to $212/tonEuronext (Paris) — ↓1.3% to €194.75/ton ($226.4/ton)ICAR analysts increased the forecast for wheat harvest in the Russian Federation to 84.5 million tons and exports to 41.5 million tons, while the USDA expects 83.5 and 46 million tons, respectively.USDA will release its August supply and demand balance today, which forecasts a decline in the US harvest and global stocks, which could support prices.
