The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine is preparing to launch a state support program that will allow agricultural producers to attract non-repayable funds for the construction of modern vegetable storage facilities. Each year, the government plans to allocate about UAH 200 million to this instrument.
The funds will be provided in the form of grants that will cover up to 30% of the project cost, but no more than UAH 20 million per facility. Co-financing by the applicant will be a mandatory condition.
The main requirements for receiving grants:
The grants will apply exclusively to the construction of new storage facilities with a capacity of 3,000 tons or more;
the implementation of projects must last 6–18 months;
for capacities of 3,000–6,000 tons, the creation of at least 12 jobs is envisaged;
for storage facilities over 6,000 tons - at least 60 employees. The program is expected to reduce crop losses, stabilize off-season vegetable supplies to the market, and reduce price fluctuations. For agribusiness, this will mean increased competitiveness, and for regional economies, additional jobs and infrastructure investments.
