In the period from October 1 to 22, 2025, Egypt became the largest buyer of Ukrainian grain, providing 23.3% of the total export value. This was reported by the state institution “Institute “Ukragropromproductivnist””.During this time, 410 thousand tons of wheat were shipped to Egypt, which made the country the undisputed leader among importers. Algeria took second place with a share of 13.7% (240.6 thousand tons of wheat), and Turkey - third (9.1%, 159.4 thousand tons of barley and corn). The top five also included Indonesia (7.7%, 135.9 thousand tons of wheat) and Italy (7%, 122.2 thousand tons of corn).Various countries became leaders by individual crops.
The main buyers of wheat were Egypt, Algeria, Indonesia, Yemen and Bangladesh, and the largest importers of barley were Turkey, Libya and Iraq. At the same time, Italy, the Republic of Korea, Turkey, Spain and Egypt remain the main markets for Ukrainian corn.Experts note that the export structure indicates the strengthening of the positions of Ukrainian grain in the markets of North Africa and the Middle East, which are traditionally key for Ukrainian agricultural producers. Despite the complex logistics and restrictions on sea routes, the activity of these markets supports foreign exchange earnings for the agricultural sector and demonstrates stable external demand for Ukrainian grain.
