The grain processing industry is actively developing in Ukraine - in the last two years alone, 88 flour milling enterprises have resumed or started their activities. This was reported by Rodion Rybchinsky, director of the Flour Mills of Ukraine union, agronews.ua reports.According to him, as of the end of 2021, 678 industrial enterprises in the grain processing industry were operating in the country. Some of them temporarily stopped working due to loss of raw materials or problems with logistics, but since 2023, a stable recovery of production has been observed.Rybchinsky explained that the impetus for the development of processing was the restriction of grain exports in 2022. Many agricultural producers decided to invest in their own capacities, opening new processing facilities. In addition, the state began to support the industry with grants for modernization and increasing production volumes. In total, 66 enterprises have resumed work in recent years, 22 have started operations from scratch in 2024, and about 10 more have been launched in 2025. Most of the new production is concentrated in the central and western regions.About 40% of new enterprises specialize in the production of flour, 30% in cereals, and another 30% in pasta.
