Ukraine's international reserves increased in 2024

Ukraine's international reserves increased by 8% as of January 1, 2025, reaching $43.8 billion. This was made possible by significant financial support from international partners, totaling about $42 billion, as well as over $3.5 billion from the issuance of foreign currency government bonds. These inflows allowed for covering debt servicing and repayments (totaling $6.7 billion) and IMF obligations ($3.4 billion), as well as compensating for the National Bank's net interventions ($34.8 billion) in the currency market. In December, reserves grew by 9.7%.
