Rome Fiumicino International Airport has unveiled its new solar farm. It is located along the eastern side of runway 3. Fifty-five thousand panels form the largest photovoltaic system in Europe. Thanks to the new solar power plant, carbon emissions from the airport's operations will be reduced by more than 11 thousand tons each year.
