Since mid-June, the European Union has introduced quotas for the import of Ukrainian butter. According to agronews.ua, this has already caused an increase in domestic prices for the product, despite the recent reduction in its production. In the first two weeks of the new restrictions, Ukrainian exporters have already used about 25% of the annual quota. Demand from European buyers remains high - primarily due to the attractive price difference: prices in the EU are $ 7,300-7,500 per ton (FCA), to Moldova - at least $ 7,000/t.
Despite a pause in exports in early June, the total volume of supplies of Ukrainian butter for the month exceeded the average indicators of the first quarter. This is mainly due to the export situation. At the same time, butter prices on the domestic market increased noticeably in the second half of June. Although oil production volumes in June were lower than in May, a significant increase in output is expected in July, exceeding last year's figures.
