Own energy independence at 10%: a new credit program for business has been launched in Ukraine

A large-scale state program to support distributed generation projects, which is focused on medium and large businesses, has been launched in Ukraine since June 1. The initiative allows attracting funds for the construction of new generating capacities at a preferential 10% annual interest rate.
The new credit initiative offers entrepreneurs to attract financing in the amount of 1 to 25 million euros (in hryvnia equivalent) for a period of up to 5 years. An important advantage of the program is the presence of a flexible grace period: during the construction and direct commissioning of the energy facility, the business has the opportunity to receive a deferral of payments for a period of up to 12 months, which significantly reduces the financial burden at the start of the project.
State support extends to a wide range of energy infrastructure. Funds can be directed to the construction of:
gas piston and gas turbine plants;
cogeneration plants;
biomass and biogas generation facilities;
modern energy storage systems.
The government emphasized that funding will primarily be directed to projects in energy-deficient regions, in particular in frontline regions.
You can already apply for participation in the program through one of 14 partner banks (the list of which will gradually expand). The National Development Agency will be responsible for the selection and further support of projects.
We would like to add that in parallel with the new initiative, other support instruments continue to operate in Ukraine. In particular, entrepreneurs can attract up to UAH 10 million at 0% for the purchase of generators and gas plants, as well as receive up to UAH 250 million for large energy projects within the framework of the state program "Affordable Loans 5-7-9%".
