The International Monetary Fund mission has simplified the agreements on the opening of a new EFF financing program for Ukraine, reached in November, in particular, it has reviewed the previous measures and structural beacons.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko told reporters about this and noted that the revision of the agreements was influenced, including by consultations directly with the Fund’s Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, who visited Kyiv in January during the large-scale shelling of Ukrainian energy infrastructure, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“The Ukrainian program will be considered at the next meeting of the IMF Board of Directors,” she said.
According to Svyrydenko, the most sensitive issues of the IMF program are taxation of individual entrepreneurs.
“The details are important here. In working with the IMF, we agreed to increase the threshold (annual income for) the introduction of VAT for individual entrepreneurs to UAH 4 million (equivalent to about €85 thousand) — this is the maximum level of VAT on goods in force in Europe. Thus, these changes will not apply to 2/3 of all individual entrepreneurs,” the head of government noted.
She specified that the question of when exactly the norm will come into force is the subject of our further work.
