Ukraine and Switzerland launch economic resilience program for 2026-2030

On January 21, Ukraine and Switzerland signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which launches a new large-scale economic resilience program “Competitiveness for the Recovery of Ukraine 2026-2030”. The signing took place between the Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Oleksiy Sobolev and the Delegate of the Federal Council for Ukraine Jacques Gerber from the State Secretariat of Switzerland for Economic Affairs. The event took place within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The memorandum defines four strategic areas of work:

Simplifying the conditions for doing business:

  • Improving the regulatory framework, digitalizing public services and reducing regulatory pressure on entrepreneurs.
    Strengthening institutions:
  • Supporting business associations and regional development agencies that will help SMEs enter new markets.
    Modernization of enterprises:
  • Direct technical assistance to businesses to implement "green" technologies, automation and EU quality standards.
    Human capital development:
  • Joint work with the International Labor Organization (ILO) on the involvement of veterans, women and internally displaced persons in economic processes.
