Ukraine and the Republic of Korea are preparing to launch a specialized working group (Task Force), which will become a key tool for attracting Korean technologies and investments in the restoration of Ukrainian infrastructure.
The main goal of the Task Force is to coordinate efforts for the rapid preparation and implementation of projects, as well as mobilize Korean business to participate in the reconstruction and technological modernization of Ukraine.
Today, the ministry is already coordinating about 15 projects that are being implemented with the support of the government of the Republic of Korea. Priority areas of cooperation are the restoration of the housing sector and social infrastructure, the development of railway and aviation infrastructure, the modernization of water drainage systems and energy-efficient solutions.
It is expected that in the near future the Strategic Council of the Republic of Korea will make a decision on further expanding this portfolio.
A separate vector of cooperation is the development of vocational education. With the support of the Korean side, a modern training center for training construction equipment operators is being created. Particular attention will be paid to attracting women to technical professions. This is a direct response to the shortage of personnel in the labor market and part of the strategy for forming a new recovery economy.
At the same time, work is underway to develop public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms. The Ministry is stimulating the localization of Korean business in Ukraine. The creation of production facilities directly in Ukraine will allow Korean companies not only to participate in the reconstruction, but also to effectively integrate into European markets.
