Ukrainian customs for the first time automatically processed import declarations

In Ukraine, for the first time, automatic release of goods in import and temporary import regimes has been launched. The corresponding customs declarations were processed completely without the participation of a customs officer.
It is noted that previously the auto-release technology was used only for export. From now on, the system also extends to the import of goods. At this stage, only for businesses with the highest level of trust of customs authorities - for AEOs.
The customs emphasized that this direction of movement corresponds to the practice of the European Union, where automation of customs procedures is a standard for honest business. The introduction of auto-release in the import regime is another step by Ukraine towards harmonizing customs procedures with European ones.
In February of this year, more than 6.5% of the total number of export declarations were processed completely automatically.
It is noted that now automatic release is used not only for import, but also for certain cases of temporary import and placing goods in a customs warehouse. Further development of digital tools will allow expanding the list of goods and customs regimes available for auto-release.
