A powerful wind power plant is planned to be built in Lviv region

The OKKO group of companies intends to build a wind power plant with 10 wind turbines with a total capacity of up to 80 MW near Sokal in Lviv region. The group already has one operating wind farm in Volyn, another one is at the beginning of construction, and also plans to build a wind farm with 40 wind generators on the border of Ternopil and Khmelnytsky regions.
The project for the construction of a wind farm on the territory of the Sokal urban community is owned by the Lviv LLC “Zakhid Viter”, the announcement of the planned activity says.
“Up to 10 modern wind power plants with a unit capacity of up to 8 MW with a tower height of up to 200 m are planned to be installed on the territory of the wind power plant. Electricity generation will be carried out at the expense of a renewable energy source - wind, the estimated operating life of the wind power plant is 35 years. It can be extended depending on the technical characteristics of the selected type of main equipment of the wind farm,” the project description says.
Currently, the company “Zakhid Viter” has at its disposal 10 land plots near Sokal with an area of ​​​​3.1 hectares, which it leases from LLC “MSA Group” of the above-mentioned Andriy Tabinsky. In total, it is planned that the wind farm will operate on 10 hectares.
This will be the fourth wind farm project for the OKKO group - it owns wind farm projects in Ivanychy (capacity 147 MW) and wind farm in Zaturtsy (192 MW) in the Volyn region. In April 2026, information appeared that OKKO had bought a wind farm project on the border of Ternopil and Khmelnytsky regions with a capacity of 272 MW (the owner of the project is “Wind Energy Solar”).
