Ukrainian metallurgical companies increased their exports of flat rolled products by 3.7% in January-April 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, to 574.8 thousand tons. This is evidenced by GMK Center calculations based on data from the State Customs Service.
Over 81% of exports are hot-rolled flat rolled products (UKTZED 7208) - 467.4 thousand tons, which is 1.3% more year-on-year. The main consumers of products during the period were Poland — 174.3 thousand tons, Bulgaria — 100.67 thousand tons and Italy — 46.19 thousand tons.
Another 14.7% of shipments, or 84.4 thousand tons (+17.9% y/y), accounted for cold-rolled flat products (UKTZED 7209). The main consumer of products is Poland — 43.23 thousand tons. Another 13.12 thousand tons were exported to Bulgaria and 2.53 thousand tons — to Italy.
During this period, 22.1 thousand tons of coated flat products (UKTZED 7210) were exported, which is 8.7% more y/y. 43.23 thousand tons of the corresponding products were shipped to Poland, 2.48 thousand tons to Romania.
In April, Ukrainian metallurgists exported 148.77 thousand tons of flat rolled products, which is 31.6% more year-on-year and 41.8% more month-on-month. Shipments of hot-rolled flat rolled products amounted to 118.79 thousand tons (+14.5% year-on-year; +43.6% month-on-month), flat cold-rolled products – 21.9 thousand tons (+142.3% year-on-year; +42.8% month-on-month), flat coated products – 7.69 thousand tons (+169.6% year-on-year; +15.4% month-on-month).
Revenue from flat-rolled steel exports in January–April increased by 13.4% year-on-year, to $342.89 million, and in April by 25% year-on-year and 49.1% month-on-month, to $94.15 million.
