A study of over 80,000 social media posts with the hashtag #Valentinesday showed that people associate Valentine’s Day with “shopping” much more often than with “love.” The words “shopping” and “gift” were mentioned 131.17% more often than “love,” indicating a surge in consumer interest in shopping ahead of the holiday.Digital marketing agency Inweb has collected data on the intentions of celebrating this day around the world to help brands effectively track trends and adapt their strategies.
