In three regions of Ukraine, it is already possible to grow olives
The south of Ukraine is becoming more and more similar in climatic conditions to Greece. Thus, farmers of the Mykolaiv, Kherson and Odessa regions, where climate change is observed, can master the cultivation of olives and the production of olive oil.Such factors as the high demand for the fruits of the olive tree, as well as for the product of their processing, olive oil, are of great importance for the choice of this crop by gardeners. After all, it is increasingly difficult for farmers to grow raspberries or cucumbers in such a hot climate.Given that olives live and bear fruit for hundreds of years, and their yield increases every year, and already at the age of 20, trees produce an average of 20-35 kg of fruit, the creation of olive plantations seems to be an extremely promising occupation, the publication writes.
