FAO has supported the initiative of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine to build small vegetable storages with a capacity of 20 to 1,000 tons in the frontline territories of Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions. This will help reduce crop losses, create new jobs and promote the development of cooperatives among farmers. After the launch of small storages, it is planned to build large facilities for business and social institutions. A project to produce biogas and electricity from agrobiomass was also discussed, which will contribute to energy independence and additional income for farmers.
