Ukraine is actively increasing onion exports to the European Union, which indicates an increase in its share in the European market.Ukrainian exporters have significantly expanded the geography of onion supplies. The main sales markets remain Romania, Bulgaria, Austria and Montenegro. Supplies to Moldova have recently resumed. New opportunities have also appeared in the UK. This paves the way for expanding exports outside the EU.
One of the key advantages of Ukrainian onions is its competitive price. In Ukraine, wholesale onion prices remain stable and lower than in many EU countries. For example, in Poland, onion prices are on average 40% higher than in Ukraine.Thus, Ukraine is gradually strengthening its position in the European onion market, using competitive advantages and expanding sales markets.
