Lending in Ukraine reached a new record high in July. According to the National Bank, the total volume of loans granted by banks to companies and Ukrainians increased by 2% and amounted to UAH 1 trillion 235.201 billion, Ukrainian News reports, Dengi.ua reports.It is noted that since the beginning of 2025, the loan portfolio in the economy has grown by 11.6% compared to UAH 1 trillion 106.8 billion at the beginning of the year. In July, the volume of hryvnia loans to legal entities rose by 2.5% and reached UAH 656.777 billion.Business loans in foreign currency over the same period increased by 0.2% and amounted to the equivalent of UAH 252.522 billion.
The volume of lending to the population increased by 2.7%, reaching UAH 316.111 billion.At the same time, an increase in interest rates was recorded in July: for hryvnia loans for businesses, they increased by 1.4 pp. - to 16.9%, for individuals - by 0.3 pp. and amounted to 36.2%. Rates for foreign currency loans for companies remained at 5.9%.Dengi.ua reported that since the beginning of the year, 5,158 agricultural enterprises have received more than UAH 33.2 billion under the "Affordable Loans 5-7-9%" program.In addition, over the 9 months of operation of the state program of preferential lending to defense-industrial complex manufacturers, 50 companies have already received loans for a total amount of UAH 2.7 billion.
