Despite the decrease in the number of new registrations, the net increase in foreign individual entrepreneurs amounted to 490 - taking into account the fact that during the same period 1,158 non-resident entrepreneurs ceased their activities. In total, among more than 213 thousand individual entrepreneurs that closed in Ukraine in nine months, foreigners make up only 0.5%.Most often, businesses in Ukraine are opened by citizens of Azerbaijan (229 individual entrepreneurs), Russia (222) and Uzbekistan (160). The top five also includes entrepreneurs from Moldova (125) and Armenia (95).
At the same time, it is Russian citizens who most often close their businesses — 241 cases since the beginning of the year.Most foreigners work in the retail sector — almost a third of all active individual entrepreneurs. Also popular are public catering (14%), wholesale trade (9%) and IT areas, in particular programming (6%) and the provision of information services (4%).Every third foreign entrepreneur works in Kyiv (544 new individual entrepreneurs), followed by Odesa region (300), Kyiv (138), Kharkiv (104) and Lviv (83). The fewest foreign businesses were opened in Volyn, Chernihiv, Sumy, Donetsk and Kherson regions — from 2 to 17 individual entrepreneurs.
