In November, 1 million 541 thousand tons of grain were transported by rail in export connections — 40% more than in October. The data was announced during an online meeting of representatives of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia with agricultural market participants, reports RAIL.insider.
In total, 1 million 565 thousand tons of grain were loaded onto the Ukrzaliznytsia network in the first 18 days of November. This is 27% higher than the October figure, but 5.2% lower than the result of November last year. The growth is also demonstrated by the volumes of transportation: since the beginning of the month, almost 1 million 763 thousand tons of grain have been transported by rail. Compared to the same period in October, the volume increased by 30%, although it remained 8.1% lower than in November 2024.The main export flows are traditionally directed to ports - they account for 93% of all grain transportation. Only 7% of cargo passes through western border crossings.According to market participants, the trend towards increasing volumes indicates an increase in exports and an improvement in the logistics situation at the end of the year.
