The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has launched a pilot project for an electronic cabinet for timber exporters, which is integrated into the Unified State Electronic Timber Accounting System. The new digital service is designed to simplify the procedures for legal timber trade and harmonize the Ukrainian market with European requirements. The electronic cabinet allows exporters to instantly check the chain of origin of timber — a key factor for passing customs control and confirming the environmental friendliness of products for EU partners.
The system allows you to track the origin of raw materials using the following parameters:logging ticket number;waybill number;tag number. The data can be downloaded and used to confirm legal origin during export. The service increases the transparency of the timber market, meets the requirements of EU legislation, and strengthens the positions of Ukrainian exporters. The launch of the electronic cabinet takes place against the backdrop of current restrictions on the export of unprocessed timber. Ukraine has a temporary moratorium on the export of roundwood (zero quota) until at least the end of 2025, and a complete ban on the export of fuel wood (firewood, logs, chips) until December 31, 2025.
The new electronic service should be an important stage in the digitalization of the industry and increasing trust in Ukrainian wood exports.
