Poland to build toll motorway from border to Lviv New route will open Polish business to the East and Middle East

Poland is preparing to bear the costs of building a modern M10 motorway, about 80 km long, which will connect the Korchow-Krakowice border crossing point with Lviv and will become toll.
Construction work will be carried out under Polish law, which is expected to facilitate the participation of Polish contractors. Design work may begin even before the end of hostilities, and construction itself - immediately after the conclusion of peace.
According to the head of the Polish Industrial Development Agency (ARP), Bartłomiej Babuszka, this project is part of a broad logistics strategy that should open new markets in the East and the Middle East for Polish companies.
The new highway will be an extension of the Polish A4 motorway, which currently ends directly at the border in Korchow. On the Ukrainian side, the single-lane M10 highway currently operates on the same route, which has not met modern standards for freight and passenger transportation for decades.
In addition to the highway, the list of joint Polish-Ukrainian investments may include:
construction of a railway line with a European gauge;
creation of a large cargo terminal in central Ukraine;
a project for a Polish port on the Black Sea.
The official signing of the agreement and the presentation of the list of joint projects are planned for the "Renewal of Ukraine" conference, which is scheduled to take place on June 25–26 in Gdansk, Poland.
We remind you that the idea of modernizing the M10 highway has been discussed since the preparation for Euro-2012, but none of the projects has yet received specific financial approval. The Krakovets-Brody-Rivne highway, about 280 km long, has also remained on paper for years – no private investor has been found for it, so a public-private partnership model has been considered.
