Ukraine increased the production of ferroalloys

According to the results of 2025, Ukrainian ferroalloy enterprises increased their output by 17% year-on-year - to 127 thousand tons. For comparison: in the pre-war 2021, ferroalloy enterprises produced 858.7 thousand tons of ferroalloys. This was reported in the GMK Center column by Serhiy Kudryavtsev, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA).
The production of individual types of ferroalloys increased as follows:
silicomanganese - by 8.7% year-on-year to 113.2 thousand tons;
ferromanganese - almost 4 times, to 13.8 thousand tons.
The production of ferrosilicon and other ferroalloys was not carried out last year.
“Ferroalloy plants have reoriented to the domestic market, as the high domestic price, difficulties with export logistics and other factors create more favorable conditions for supplies to the Ukrainian market, rather than to exports. There is even re-export: products previously exported for sale in Europe are returned or will be returned to fulfill contracts on the domestic market during the downtime of the plants. In addition, the current production volume is insufficient to ensure export contracts,” notes Sergey Kudryavtsev.
Last year, the Pokrovsky and Marganets Mining and Processing Plants (PGOK, MGOK) produced 171 thousand tons of manganese concentrate. In 2024, the enterprises were idle. For comparison: in 2021, PGOK produced 1.21 million tons of concentrate, MGOK - 551 thousand tons.
