Goodvalley has installed solar power systems at eight production sites, making it one of the largest distributed generation projects in Ukraine’s agricultural sector this year. The project’s total capacity is 2,659 kW.
This was reported by the Ukrainian company Rayton, which implemented this large-scale project.
It is noted that the flagship of the complex is a high-capacity 900 kW rooftop solar power plant. In total, the combined system will generate 2.65 MW of environmentally friendly energy.
The transition to its own solar energy is a strategic move for Goodvalley—a company founded in 1994 by Danish farmers. The brand’s philosophy is rooted in European principles of sustainable and efficient agriculture. The company manages every stage of a closed production cycle: from crop farming and feed production to pig farming and meat processing in the Ukrainian and Polish markets. Investing in its own solar power generation with a capacity of over 2.5 MW not only ensures uninterrupted production but also perfectly aligns with the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and minimizing its carbon footprint.
The implementation of such large-scale solutions is becoming a critical factor for the survival and profitability of the entire Ukrainian agribusiness sector amid energy shortages.
“Agribusiness is one of the sectors most vulnerable to power outages. Not only profits but also the very survival of the entire livestock complex depends on the stable operation of ventilation, climate control, and automated water and feed supply systems. The 2,659 kW project for Goodvalley is not just a step toward sustainable development; it is fundamental protection for the enterprise against blackouts and constantly rising tariffs. “During the peak spring and summer months, this energy complex is capable of generating approximately 340,000–380,000 kWh of electricity,” comments Rayton CEO Olga Lesko.
