Ukraine's economy showed positive momentum in the second quarter of 2026. According to preliminary estimates by the State Statistics Service, real GDP grew by 0.4% compared to the same period in 2025.
Compared to the first quarter of 2026, real GDP increased by 0.3% (seasonally adjusted). In the first quarter, the economy had contracted by 0.5% year-on-year; thus, the shift to positive growth in the second quarter marked a change in the trend.
In monetary terms, Ukraine's nominal GDP for the April–June 2026 period amounted to UAH 2.3057 trillion.
The State Statistics Service notes that the revised estimate reflects the receipt of additional statistical and administrative data—specifically information from the State Treasury Service, expanded balance-of-payments data, and new figures regarding the financial sector, services, and telecommunications.
Consequently, the second quarter of 2026 concluded with an increase in economic activity in both year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter terms.
