The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing Ukraine with 300 million euros to finance projects to restore the energy sector, heat supply, water supply, and modernize social infrastructure.
The relevant agreements were signed in Brussels during a meeting between Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and EIB President Nadia Calvino. According to the head of government, the financing will be distributed across three key areas. 100 million euros each is earmarked for:investments in district heating, improving energy efficiency, and purchasing necessary equipment, including electricity and heat generation plants;
for implementing projects in the water supply and wastewater treatment sector; for restoring critical infrastructure facilities, in particular heat and water networks, as well as for modernizing social services in the healthcare, education, and housing sectors.
