According to the results of January-July 2026, Ukraine increased its consumption of metal products by 0.3% compared to the same period in 2025 - to 2.3 million tons. This is evidenced by data from Ukrmetallurgprom.Import supplies for the period amounted to 1.06 million tons, or 46.1% of the domestic market. For comparison, in January-July 2025, the domestic market capacity was 2.3 million tons, of which 862.7 thousand tons, or 37.5%, were imports. Thus, despite a slight decrease in total consumption, the share of the import component increased by 8.6%. p.During the reporting period, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced 3.32 million tons of rolled metal (-8.3% y/y), of which about 2.1 million tons, or 62.5%, were exported.In the import structure, flat rolled products still predominate over long-length rolled products, which amounted to 66.6% and 26.9%, respectively, although in January-July last year this gap was much larger, reaching 74.8% versus 20.2%.The share of flat rolled products in exports for the seven months of 2026 is slightly lower compared to January-July 2025 — 43.7% versus 44.6%, respectively. The share of long-length rolled products decreased significantly from 22.9% in January-July 2025 to 13.7% for the seven months of 2026.The main sales markets for Ukrainian rolled metal products over the seven months remained EU countries with a share of 81.9%, other European countries with 9.6%, and CIS countries with a figure of 6.5%.The key suppliers of metal products to Ukraine were other European countries, which took first place with a share of 49.8%, Asian countries in second place with a figure of 25.5%, and EU-27 countries in third place, providing 16% of imports.As GMK Center reported, in 2025, Ukraine increased its consumption of metal products (rolled and semi-finished products) by 21.7% compared to 2024 - to 4 million tons. Last year, 1.6 million tons of metal products were imported to Ukraine, which is 31.2% more year-on-year. These imported supplies provided 40.1% of the domestic consumption market, and the total share of imports in domestic consumption of metal products increased by 2.49 pp. year-on-year.
