Nature reserves are being expanded in Ukraine

Ukraine continues to expand nature reserves and restore natural ecosystems. In the territories managed by the State Forestry Agency, the nature reserve fund already covers more than 1.3 million hectares. In total, almost 3.4 thousand nature reserves and objects have been created.

A separate direction is the restoration of rivers, forests, steppes and coastal zones. Ukraine also plans to restore natural vegetation on at least 200 thousand hectares of coastal protection strips by 2030. This means that not only the area of protected areas is gradually increasing, but also the scale of real nature restoration.
